Getting To and From School

Image: Safety First - Parents, please drive safely when dropping off or picking up your children.

 

Arrival  

Breakfast is provided in the morning.  If  your student would like to have breakfast, they may arrive at 9:00 am. Students who do not eat breakfast  should arrive around 9:10 am. Doors will be opened at 9:00 am for students to head into their classroom.  Students who live more than a mile from the school may take a school bus to school. Parents may also  transport their children to school. Please follow our parking lot etiquette below:

Parking Lot Etiquette:

It is important to maintain slow, safe driving speeds - safety is paramount!

Our Paras are there to help with the traffic flow.

  • Stay in your car as you drive up to our drop off line, you will need to pull all the way forward.

  • Students need to exit on the passenger side only. 

If you choose to get out of your car and walk your child to class:

  • Park in designated parking spaces only; do not park in the drop off lane or the bus lane!

Only with a hanging parking permit or an appropriate license plate should you park in our Handicapped Parking Spaces.

Dismissal  

Parking Lot Etiquette:

It is important to maintain slow, safe driving speeds - safety is paramount! We also ask that you follow our staff's directions to maintain a safe and efficient flow of traffic. 

  • Stay in your car as you drive up to wait in line, you will need to pull all the way forward.

  • Tell a staff member your child’s name. 

  • The staff member transmits the name to another staff member on the track who reads it aloud to students. 

  • Your child will walk up the concrete median and meet you at your car.  

  • Students need to enter on the passenger side only. 

  • Once you have your child, you may carefully pull out into the driveway and leave. 

If you choose to get out of your car and pick up your child at the flagpole:

  • Park in designated parking spaces only; do not park in the pickup lane or the bus lane!

  • Please wait for school to be over before taking your child. 

  • Students waiting on track notify a staff member who release them to parents waiting at the flagpole. 

  • Follow directions of staff members and crossing guards to get back safely to your vehicle.

Be sure to check Skyward or contact the office for your child's correct bus route number if you are unsure. 
If there is a change to the end of the day and you need your child to come home differently: 

  • Please call or send a note to the office and have Kim, school secretary, know of the change. 
  • All students need permission slips sent from Kim to change their bus transportation assignment. 
  • Teachers do not always check email after lunch, so be sure to contact the office only for these changes.

Park in our Handicapped Parking Spaces only with an appropriate license plate or a hanging parking permit.

Early dismissal  

Early dismissal's after 3:30 are discouraged. However, we realize there are some circumstances that require a student to be dismissed after 3:30. 

You need to come to the school office to sign our your student for an early dismissal. Please make sure to bring ID with you. At this time your child will be called to the office to meet you.
